Excellence in Leadership examines eleven different subject areas related to community leadership:

  1. Embracing Diversity
  2. Creating Healthy Communities
  3. Visioning
  4. Communication
  5. Managing Conflict
  6. Decision Making
  7. Gaining Consensus
  8. Involving Others
  9. Building Strategic Alliances
  10. Organizing Effectively
  11. Obtaining Financial Support

Course materials have been prepared for each of these subject areas. The materials have been written specifically for rural residents and include practical exercises designed to provide an opportunity to practice the skills in your day-to-day activities. For some skills, case studies have been developed to provide an opportunity to explore how others have used their leadership skills to address specific community challenges.

Excellence in Leadership is an online training course. Everything you need is provided via the Internet and is readily accessible once you register for the individual training modules.
